Why service
Why regular servicing pays for itself
Treatment plants and pump stations are hard-working machines that sit underground and out of sight, so problems often go unnoticed until something fails. By then a cheap part, like an air filter, a diaphragm or a float switch, has often turned into a burnt-out blower or a flooded chamber.
A regular service catches wear early, keeps your system working the way it was designed to and gives you a record that it’s been looked after. That matters if you sell the property, and if the Environment Agency ever asks.
Signs you need an engineer
- An alarm, beacon or warning light on
- Bad smells from the tank, chamber or drains
- A blower or pump that’s noisy, or silent
- Slow drains or toilets backing up
- Cloudy or smelly water at the outlet

Questions answered
Repairs and servicing FAQs
How often should my treatment plant or pump station be serviced?
Most domestic treatment plants and pump stations need servicing once a year. Commercial, shared and heavily used systems usually need it every three to six months. Some manufacturers recommend more often, so we’ll follow the guidance for your system.
Do you service every make of treatment plant?
We service all the common makes, including Klargester, Graf, Tricel, Marsh, Rewatec (formerly Conder) and WPL. If yours isn’t listed, give us a call and we’ll let you know.
Can you repair faults you find during a service?
Yes. Our engineers carry most common parts, like air filters, diaphragms and float switches, so many repairs can be done there and then. Anything bigger we’ll quote for and book in.
Do you offer emergency call-outs?
Yes. We’re available 24/7, 365 days a year, for alarms, breakdowns and flooding. Call 03333 233577 out of hours.
Is servicing the same as emptying?
No. Servicing looks after the mechanical and electrical parts and checks the treatment is working. Emptying, or desludging, removes the sludge that builds up. Most systems need both, and we can arrange them together.
What areas do you cover?
Surrey, West Sussex, East Sussex, Kent, Hampshire and London.
