Why it matters
Drainage problems on site cost time
A flooded trench stops the groundworkers, a full welfare unit annoys the whole site, and debris in new drains can hold up handover.
Water stops work
Rain and groundwater in excavations hold up pours and put footings at risk. Fast tanker response keeps the programme moving.
Welfare that works
Regular emptying of welfare units and holding tanks, booked so nobody has to chase it.
Clean drains at handover
Concrete, mortar and silt in new drains cause blockages for the first residents. Jet and survey before handover.
Paperwork sorted
RAMS, insurance certificates, training records and a waste transfer note for every load, ready for your site file.

What you need at each stage of the build
Choose a stage to see the drainage work that usually comes with it.
Keeping excavations dry
Rain and groundwater fill footings, trenches and basements. Our tankers take the water away so work can carry on, and we deal with contaminated water properly.
- Groundwater and flood water removal by tanker
- Clearing silt-laden water from excavations
- Disposal of oily or contaminated water
- Emergency call-outs after heavy rain
Welfare and site services
Site welfare units, holding tanks and canteen drains need regular emptying while the build goes on.
- Emptying site welfare units and portable toilets
- Holding tank emptying on a schedule
- Unblocking site drains and gullies
- Removing liquid waste with a waste transfer note every time
Drainage that’s ready to hand over
New drains collect concrete, mortar, silt and debris during the build. Jet them clean and survey them before handover or adoption.
- High-pressure jetting to clear construction debris
- CCTV surveys with written reports
- Pump station and treatment plant clean-out before handover
- Manhole and chamber clean-out
Aftercare and maintenance
Until a pump station or sewer is adopted, someone has to look after it. We can maintain it for the developer or the management company.
- Pump station servicing until adoption
- Treatment plant servicing and desludging
- Planned maintenance handed over to the management company
- A 24/7 line for residents’ emergencies

Flooded excavation?
Get a rough idea of how much water there is, then call us for a tanker.
How much water is in that hole?
A rough guide to the volume of water in a flooded excavation, and how many tanker loads it might take.
Our tankers carry 2,000 to 4,000 gallons (about 9,000 to 18,000 litres). Groundwater can keep coming in while we pump, so real numbers vary. Call us and we’ll advise.
For an emergency, call our 24/7 line on 03333 233577.

Questions answered
Questions from contractors and developers
Can you pump out a flooded excavation?
Yes. We remove groundwater and flood water from footings, trenches, basements and lift pits by tanker, and dispose of it properly. If the water is contaminated with oil or fuel, we can deal with that too.
Do you empty site welfare units?
Yes. We empty welfare units, portable toilets and holding tanks on a regular schedule or as a one-off, with a waste transfer note for every load.
Can you clean new drains before handover?
Yes. We jet new drains, chambers and pump stations to remove concrete, mortar, silt and debris left from the build, and can carry out a CCTV survey afterwards.
Do new sewers need a CCTV survey before adoption?
Water companies normally ask for a CCTV survey of new sewers before they adopt them, and defects found then are much cheaper to fix than after handover. We carry out CCTV surveys and supply a written report.
Who looks after a pump station before it’s adopted?
Until a water company adopts it, the developer or the management company is usually responsible. We can service and maintain it in the meantime, and respond to alarms 24/7.
Can you supply RAMS and insurance before starting?
Yes. We can supply risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), insurance certificates and training records, including confined space entry, on request.
How big are your tankers?
Our tankers range from 2,000 to 4,000 gallons, about 9,000 to 18,000 litres, and all have jetting facilities. Tell us about access and we’ll send the right one.
Do you install treatment plants and soakaways?
Yes. Our groundworks team installs treatment plants, soakaways, manholes and inspection chambers.
