This policy explains how Clearmasters (Environmental) Ltd ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on www.clearmasters.co.uk, and how you can control them.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your phone or computer. Some are essential for the site to work. Others help us understand how the site is used, or let us measure our advertising. Similar technologies, such as browser storage and tracking pixels, work in the same way, and this policy covers those too.
How we use cookies
We sort the cookies on our site into three groups. Strictly necessary cookies are always on. Analytics is on unless you switch it off. Marketing cookies are only used if you agree to them. You can change your mind at any time using the button above or the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.
Strictly necessary
These make the site work. For example, they keep our online booking and contact forms working and protect them from spam. They can't be switched off, because the site won't work properly without them.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits to the site, see which pages are useful and how people find us, so we can improve the site. We only look at combined figures, such as the number of visits to a page. We don't use analytics to identify you, to build a profile of you or for advertising.
The law allows this kind of analytics without asking first, as long as it's used only for these statistics and you can easily switch it off. This is the "statistical purposes" exception in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025. To stay within it, we've switched off Google's advertising features (Google Signals and ad personalisation), we don't link our analytics to Google Ads, and we've turned off Google's data sharing settings. Switching analytics off: click "Reject all" on the cookie banner, or use the "Change my cookie settings" button above and turn Analytics off. We stop it straight away and delete its cookies, and we remember your choice.
Marketing
These use the Meta (Facebook) pixel to measure how well our Facebook adverts work and to show our adverts to people who have visited our site. Meta may link this to your Facebook or Instagram account if you have one. You can read more in Meta's cookie policy.

Maps and other content from third parties
Some pages show a Google Map. When a map loads, Google may set its own cookies, and these are covered by Google's cookie policy. Our site also loads icons from Font Awesome. This doesn't set cookies, but like any website it receives your device's IP address so it can send the files to you.
Controlling cookies
- On our site: use the "Change my cookie settings" button above, or the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of any page. "Reject all" switches off both analytics and marketing. If you turn either off, we delete those cookies from our website straight away.
- In your browser: most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. If you block all cookies, some parts of our site, such as online booking, may not work.
- Google Analytics: you can also install Google's opt-out browser add-on.
- Facebook adverts: you can manage how Meta uses your information in your Facebook ad preferences.
