Drainage & Septic Tanks in Hythe & the Waterside

Drains, interceptors, pump stations and septic tanks looked after for homes, businesses and industrial sites in Hythe and along the Waterside.

Hythe sits on the western shore of Southampton Water, between the docks across the water and the New Forest behind it. The Waterside around it is a mix of residential towns like Dibden Purlieu and Holbury, big industrial sites around Fawley and Marchwood, and quiet forest-edge countryside towards Beaulieu, Exbury and Lepe.

That mix shapes our work. In the towns, it’s blocked drains, CCTV surveys and pump stations. On industrial and commercial sites, it’s interceptors, gullies and tanker work under strict site rules, where our SafeContractor and Achilles UVDB approvals matter. Out in the countryside, many homes are on septic tanks, cesspits and treatment plants.

Our crews are in Hampshire most days and we answer the phone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Low ground by the water means many sites and estates rely on pump stations. We service them, test the pumps and alarms, and come out day or night if one fails.

How it works

What happens when you book

The same simple process for every job.

  1. Step 1

    Tell us what you’ve got

Call us or book online and tell us what you need. For industrial sites, let us know about inductions and permits so we can arrange them in advance.

  2. Step 2

We come out and do the job

We send the right vehicle for the job. It helps if:

    • there’s room to park a tanker close to the tank, trap or manhole
    • lids, covers and hatches are clear and easy to find
    • you tell us about narrow access, gates or site rules before we arrive
  3. Step 3

    Paperwork and the next visit

You get a waste transfer note for anything we take away, and a written report after a survey or service. If it’s a regular job, we’ll remind you when the next one is due.

Questions answered

Hythe and Waterside drainage FAQs

What homeowners and businesses around Hythe ask us most.

Can you work on industrial sites with strict access rules?

Yes. We’re SafeContractor, Achilles UVDB and RISQS approved and used to inductions and permits to work. Tell us what’s needed when you book.

Do you empty septic tanks around Beaulieu and Exbury?

Yes. Many homes towards the forest and the coast are off the mains, and we empty septic tanks and cesspits and service treatment plants there.

Our drains are slow. Is it because the ground is flat?

It can be part of it. Drains on flat ground have little fall, so silt and fat settle more easily. Jetting clears them, and a CCTV survey shows if there’s also damage.

Do I need permission to replace my septic tank in the national park?

You may need planning permission from the New Forest National Park Authority, and the new system must meet the Environment Agency’s rules. Check before starting.

Do you service pump stations on the Waterside?

Yes, for homes, estates and commercial sites. We test, clean and repair them and respond 24/7 if one fails.

Can you come out at night?

Yes. We answer the phone 24 hours a day. Call 03333 233566 and we’ll tell you when we can be there.
