Lyndhurst is the main village in the middle of the New Forest National Park. Around it, homes, farms and businesses are scattered across the forest, in places like Minstead, Emery Down, Bank, Brook and Beaulieu, and many of them aren’t connected to the mains sewer. Septic tanks, cesspits and treatment plants are part of life here.
Working in the forest has its own challenges. Lanes are narrow, verges are soft, and ponies, cattle and donkeys wander freely across the roads. The soils are often heavy and slow to drain, and the streams that cross the forest are protected. All of that affects how private drainage is designed, maintained and checked.
Lyndhurst is also busy with visitors, and its pubs, cafés and hotels need grease traps emptied and drains kept clear. Our tankers and engineers are in Hampshire most days, and we answer the phone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
