Over the years we have cleaned out many ponds, swimming pools and even small lakes. We try to restrict this work to solid based ponds or those with linings that are in good condition but as some of the following photos show, we don't always stick to that rule.

We have always used conventional methods of 'Tankering' with any pond or lake cleaning job, but if you see below, we can now offer an

 'Eco Friendly'

option. A fantastic machine if you want to clean a pond or lake that contains vast amounts of fluid/waste.

also see 'Dewatering Service' page for a more in-depth description.

                  SAVE OUR PLANET

In 2010 we purchased a Mobile dewatering unit aimed for cleaning and recycling all types of wet waste. Ponds and lakes contain a vast quantity of water and until now the only real option for cleaning them was to vacuum the waste with tankers and transport the contents by road for disposal.

This sophisticated 'Eco Friendly'machine can remove all the contents, separate the solids from the liquid and either return the cleansed fluid back to source or be discharged as clean water to land or sewers.

COMPARISION

100,000 gallons of sludge requires approximately thirty 26 ton tanker loads, or fifteen 44 ton articulated tanker loads to transport.......all by road.

100,000 gallons of sludge dewatered can be reduced down to 2 or 3 six yard skips of dewatered waste, dry enough to be accepted at landfill or recycling centres, this way warrants just 3 vehicle movements.

With the two examples above its not hard to imagine the saving on the enviromental impact let alone the overall cost of the job.

 LAKESIDE, EALING, LONDON.

A 2011 Lake Clean project which we carried out in conjuction with

First day pumping off all the water.

With the water gone and 15 cubic meters of silt removed.

After 45 cubic meters of silt pumped out

The following video is filmed from inside one of the inspection hatches on top of the dewaterer.
It shows the lakes silt entering the top screen area, where the injected polymer has caused the solids to clump together and allow the water to separate. The water then falls through the fine screens (white mesh showing on right of the vid ) and into the lower section of the body. The clumped solids cannot pass through the screens and remain as a solid material. The following photos show the material when it has dewatered.  The skip shows some of the dewatered waste from this lake.

Pond and lake silt has amazing qualities as composting and plant feed, but has always been costly and especially time consuming to dewater.   With our machine we can conquer both the time and the cost factor in one go, producing a valuable by-product from wet waste.

Jan 2012...........to date we have not sourced an out-let for this product,
thus sending tons to landfill.

This machine works the same no-matter what type of wet waste we pump,
so long as we use the correct type of polymer.

15 cubic meters of cake tipped from the dewaterer, generated from pumping approx
100 cubic meters of wet silt. All the excess cleansed water was sent to a sewer, closely monitored by Thames Water.

Altogether approx 750 cubic meters of water and silt was removed from this pond.

A challenging Banstead job, which required 250ft of suction hose in order to reach the far side of the pond, made harder by the 7mt lift and ice sheets forming over the whole area due to the freezing cold weather.

Two more pond cleans carried out with Aquajoy Water Gardens.

This domestic pond in Epsom required our Jet/Vac tanker to use high volume water jets to       break up and water down the silt.

PHASE 1. Top Pond.

Clean out of a large, two tiered concrete lined pond system and transferring the fish.

The shingle around the filter had solidified and had to be forked apart in-order to vacuum.

Pond is approximately 10 years old and had never been cleaned out.

This pond has an approximate volume content of 25,000 gallons.
